Quality education is imperative to compete with the rest of the world, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar. He was addressing at the Prize Distribution Ceremony of hostel beautification and cleanliness contest held among the 23 hostels of the campus.
In the contest, Qazafi all under the supervision of Dr Muhammad Arshad clinched the first prize while Tipu Hall under the supervision of Dr Nadeem stood second and Tariq Hall got the third position. Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar said that no nation can make the uplift without ensuring quality education, research oriented solutions and skilled manpower to the problems facing the mankind, industry and other stakeholders. He urged youth to turn all stones for acquiring knowledge for the uplift, dignity and honor of country as per vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal. He said the future of the country reins in the hands of the youth who are future leaders. He viewed that even a century ago, one can’t even imagine the comforts of life we are enjoying now-a-days, due to science and technology. He said that effective communication skills were prerequisite to excel in any field. He said that University was making all out efforts to provide the state of the art facilities to the students. Chief Hall Warden Dr Zafar Iqbal Qureshi said that the 33 RO plants have been installed at the campus to ensure portable water to the students. He urged the students to devote their energy and time in acquiring education which is a guarantee of the prospects in life. He said that latest facilities including sports and residential are being provided to the students at the campus. He said that at this time, 10,000 students were living in the hostels.
