Prof. Dr. Muhaammad Yaseen, is a well-known scientist and expert in the field of Soil and Environmental Sciences with specialization in Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition. He obtained his BSc (Hons.), MSc (Hons.) and PhD degrees in Soil Science as well as MBA in MIS from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. He has a vast experience as a teacher and researcher. He has produced 9 PhD and 80 M.Sc.(Hons.) scholars. He has published more than 150 research papers and review articles in national and international journals. He has been involved in the organization of several national and international conferences and training courses (particularly on “Nutrition Management”).
He received merit scholarship throughout his career of education. Dr. Yaseen started his career as Agriculture Officer (Research Wing) in the Department of Agriculture, Govt of Punjab. Then he was selected as a lecturer in the Department of Soil Science University of Agriculture, Faisalabad in 1990 and later on promoted to the rank of Professor. In 2001, he was elected as a member of university senate for the period of three years. In 2005, he was awarded Post Doc fellowship that he successfully completed in 2006 from the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Liverpool, United Kingdom in field of “Molecular biology and Biotechnology of Phosphorus Nutrition in the novel plant Arabidopsis.
