Institute of Physiology and Pharmacology - Overview

The Institute of Physiology and Pharmacology was established in 2014 by upgrading the former Department Physiology and Pharmacology primarily formed in 1962. The new set up has been generated in the light of visionary idea of the worthy Vice Chancellor.

Prior to the creation of this institute, its competent department has been actively engaged in running various research projects. Most of the research work has been presented in national and international forums.

The institute has a custom of magnificent research work in the fields of Endocrinology, Pharmacokinetics, Xenobiotic residues, Pharmacological and Toxicological evaluations of medicinal plants. Laboratories have been equipped with latest instrumentation over the years. Institute has also collaborations with private pharmaceutical industries.

Institute offers major courses for DVM programs and minor courses for many other Departments/Institutes including NIFSAT, Environmental Sciences, Home Economics, Zoology and Animal Husbandry etc., at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Institute also offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programs in the subjects of Physiology and Pharmacology.
