Trained manpower, quality education and researches providing solutions to problems of society and farming community; and knowledge based economy are prerequisite to alleviate the poverty from the country, said University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan.
He addressed lecturers and assistant professors of the UAF at New Senate Hall, UAF. Registrar Ch. Muhammad Hussain conducted the proceedings. He said that committed, skilled and trained teachers are the guarantee of a bright future. He urged the teaching community to become self accountable, and perform their duties effectively by creating the teachers-students friendly environment. He added that the teaching is an art in which the perfection is needed. He said that it was their duty to equip the students with skills and moral values in order to steer the country out of the different challenges. He said that UAF was having the talented manpower and teaching community of 700. Out of which, as many as 450 are PhDs. He said that progress of countries is being determined by their number of brilliant students pursuing higher education. Only the knowledge economies are going to be successful in future. He said that community, industry and farming community demand out-of-the-box solutions to their problems for the development. He said that the researchers should think out of box and come with the innovative ideas. Her urged them to come out of isolation and urged the researchers to work jointly to solve the problems of the stakeholders, industry and farming community. He said that the UAF was making conscious efforts for the gender mainstreaming. He said that the Sport Complex would be established at Pars. He said that the University was making the all the courses online for the benefit of the students and society as well.
