The University of Agriculture Faisalabad will establish state-of-the-art four new hostels at its main campus in order to meet the increasing enrolment.
This was said by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing hall warden of office annual function. Giving details, he said that under the project of Pak Korea Agri Innovation Park, two hostels each for boys and girls will be established where under the project of Pharmacy Institute, two hostels will be set up. The steps are taken to meet the demands of increasing enrollment at the campus. He said four hostels for sub campuses in Burewala and Okara-Depalpur are also being planned. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of Punjab government for the development of educational and agricultural sector. He said that Punjab government initiatives of establishing country largest women hostel at UAF speak the volume of the their commitment. He said quality research based upon solutions to problems of society, farmers and industry; knowledge based economy and trained manpower are essential to alleviate the poverty from the country, He said that community, and farming community demanded out-of- box solutions to their problems for the prosperity. He urged researchers to think out of box and come with the innovative ideas to solve the problems of the stakeholders, industry and farming community. He urged the teaching community to become self accountable, and perform their duties effectively by creating the teachers-students friendly environment. Only knowledge economies are going to be successful in future. Dean Faculty of Agriculture Dr Muhammad Amjad said that UAF was making all-out efforts to ensure the quality education and research. He said that it was their duty to equip the students with skills and moral values in order to steer the country out of the different challenges. Hall Warden Dr Zafar Iqbal said that committed, skilled and trained teachers are the guarantee of a bright future as no nation can make development without the quality education. He said that modern and state-of-the-art facilities are being provided to the students. Dr Shahbaz Talib Sahi, and Dr Jaffar Jaskani also spoke on the occasion.
