Self assessment and hardworking are effective tool to explore the weaknesses and strengths of a personality that could help people excel in their respective field. This was stated by University of Agriculture Faisalabad Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing the participants of a faculty seminar on self assessment organized by Quality Enhancement Cell, UAF .
He said the University was recruiting teachers in order to lower down the students-teachers ratio. He said that currently the student teacher ratio is 30/1 that will be lowered down to 20/1. He said that the students enrollment has surpassed 23000 students. He said there are 700 faculty numbers out of them 450 are PhD holders. He said that it is the only educational institutions in the country which is standing among the top 100 universities in any category. He said that the University was making all out efforts to refurbish the skills of the students in line with international standards.
He said the students are the best judge for evaluating the teachers' ability of communication and knowledge sharing and they need to express and indicate the qualities and limitation of a teacher during filling in the evaluation forms. He said the university management was offering refresher courses for the faculty aiming at enhancing their knowledge and sharing skills. He said the University was making efforts to facilitate the faculty equip themselves with modern teaching gadgets and skills from inland and abroad. He said there were plenty of scholarship opportunities available for the faculty. Earlier, in welcome address, Director Quality Enhancement Cell Prof Dr Ahrar Ahmad highlighted various aspects of the ongoing activities of his office. He said his office is making concrete efforts for quality enhancement. He said it was also putting it on top priority to update the achievements of the university to make the education relevant to the society and the industry.
