The tests are being conducted in three shift a day keeping the corona precautions measures in view. Dr Muhammad Ashraf has directed the officers concerned to ensure the foolproof arrangements and facilitate the students. The Vice Chancellor along with Registrar Umer Saeed Qadri, Director Admissions Dr Shahbaz Talib Sahi, and Director Graduate Studies Dr Ijaz Ahmad visited the examinations centers and inspected the arrangements. Dr Shahbaz Talib Sahi said that as many as 9,000 students will appear in postgraduate entrance tests. He said that around 3,000 students appeared in the first day. He said that all possible measures had been taken to ensure foolproof arrangements.
The University of Agriculture Faisalabad and Crescent Bahuman Limited inked a memorandum of understanding to collaborate in research and development activities on fiber. The MoU was duly signed by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf and CBL Vice President Operation Abdul Wahab at the meeting room. UAF Director Research Dr Zahir Ahmad Zahir, Chairman Dept of Fibre Technology Dr Asad Farooq, Dr Khurram Zia, and other notables also attended the ceremony. According to the agreement, both institutions will establish bilateral cooperation on eco-conscious bast and leaves fiber. It was agreed upon to work on strategies areas jointly chosen to address the issue of the industry. The meeting of various forums will be arranged including those of experts to discuss and exchange information on textile and identify areas of research. Each party will set up a steering committee to draw up cooperation plans, projects demonstration, and evaluation of bilateral achievement. The training and internship of the students will also be carried out. UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Ashraf said that it was an era of commissioned research to address the problem of the industry, farming community, and the general public. He said that step was afoot to strengthen academia-industry linkages that will help bring prosperity to the country. He was of the view that in modern times, only knowledge-based economies were proving their mettle. Abdul Wahab said that collocation with UAF will help themselves to excel in their field with quality research work. He added that strong academia-industry linkages were a prerequisite to face up the challenges of the modern era.
