The two-day nutrition festival nutrition mela staged at University of Agriculture Faisalabad has concluded. The festival includes foodstreet, healthy and nutrition lounge, seminar on nutrition, diagnosis clinics about healthy life and ghazal evening. The festival was aimed at sensitizing the public about the hygienic food and healthy lifestyle. In the ghazal evening, renowned singer Ghulam Abbas, Ali Sher and UAF student Haroon Rahid enthralled the audiences with ghazals and songs.
The nutrition mela remained a center of attraction for locals where people thronged in doves to have the delight of this spring colors. The salient feature of the festival was the healthy and nutrition lounge where the health experts have established their stalls and providing the suggestions and examining visitors regarding nutrition. Talking to visitors, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Khan said that the UAF is used to arrange two festivals a year in order to providing a platform to farming community, agricultural scientists, stakeholders, policy makers and civil society to sit together for addressing their issue. He urged the researchers and stakeholders to play their effective role in the daunting issue of the malnutrition that is hitting the 50 percent of population.
