ACTIVITIES OF DIFFERENT CLUBS/SOCIETIES

2. The Debating Club The Debating Club, UAF works under the Office of the Senior Tutor. It organizes inter-faculty and university level debate, declamation, and speech contests. The club also holds an All Pakistan interuniversity debating competition annually. Moreover, the debaters from The Debating Club, UAF participate in the National level competitions arranged by academic institutions, governmental organizations like HEC, NAB, and also by international bodies like Model United Nations. The Debating Club, UAF takes it as a matter of pride that the students who undergo regular training have been able to make their mark in all formats of the art of oratory, i.e., Declamations, Parliamentary Debates, etc. at All Pakistan and International level. 3. The Quiz Club This club works very hard to promote the tradition of quiz competitions both at the university and the national level, mainly covering the history of the Islamic and European civilizations along with prompting the students to learn crucial facts and aspects of general knowledge regarding geography, politics, economy, philosophy, literature, current affairs, etc. The particular focus is on Indian and Pakistani history, Seera- un- Nabi, and on the lives of great national heroes, like the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Mohammad Iqbal, and Fatima Jinnah. The Quiz Club has fairly established its reputation by winning many National level awards. UAF students are on the team selected from all the universities of Pakistan to participate in Quiz Competition organized by SAARC. 4. Society of Agricultural Writers (SAW)
5. The Art Club The Art Club, UAF is mainly responsible to streamline the production, promotion, and showcasing of the art work by university students. That is why the Art Club members remain busy throughout the academic session in various demanding activities. Students associated with this club make themselves available outside the working hours, as they play the main role to assist in managing theatrical, Mime and dance performances; skits during routine mega events; art, painting or poster-making competitions; and art exhibitions and fashion shows.
6. VIRSA MUSIC SOCIETY: VIRSA Music Society was formed in 2014 under "The Office of the Senior Tutor" and its first cabinet was constituted in March 2014.VIRSA Music Society is working from the platform of University of Agriculture, Faisalabad for the revival of Classical music in Pakistan. VMS is looking forward to launching short courses in music very soon in future. Virsa Music Society students are not only excelling at doing light and ghazal singing, and folk and Sufi music, but also gaining virtuosity in rock and pop 7. UAF MEDIA CLUB: The main objective of this club is to cover and report on all the educational, sports and cultural activities in the university as well as outside where the university participates. The club also makes documentaries and short filmsfor national and international competitions. Besides, UAF Media Club organizes In-house Building & Arehitecture Photography, Macro Photography, and On Spot Photography Search & Click Anchor Male & Female Competitions. 8. CHARACTER BUILDING SOCIETY: In compliance with directions received from NAB, the Character Building Society was constituted in 2015. CBS works in close collaboration with NAB to hold lectures and seminars at the university. The university students also participate in the activities and competitions organized by NAB in different cities of the country. 9. Young Development Corps (YDC)
10. Rotaract Club Rotaract clubs are part of a global effort to bring peace and international understanding to the world. This effort starts at the community level but knows no limits in its outreach. Rotaractors have access to the many resources of Rotary International (RI) and The Rotary Foundation. Rotary International provides the administrative support that helps Rotaract clubs thrive.
Rotaract does some service projects for its belonging community. These projects may be water purification, AIDS prevention, hunger, illiteracy, environment cleanliness, gender sensitization, etc.
11. Road Safety Club: Road Safety Club aims at nurturing the sense of civic responsibilities among students. The club is a very beneficial platform for students and teachers who attend seminars and lectures arranged by City Traffic Police Educational Unit, but also for a significant number of the university drivers who undergo training sessions from time-to-time. There are also Road Safety Awards for the best of Road Safety Clubs of different universities on every six months basis.
The Senior Tutor assisted by two Associate and Three Deputy Senior Tutors is responsible to:- 1. Supervise the Tutorial System with the assistance of Tutors and Co-Tutors of various students groups. 3. Supervise different events and activities of co-curricular nature within and outside the Campus to provide opportunity to the students to explore their potential. 4. To sanction leave to undergraduate students up to seven days on the recommendations of the Tutor. 5. To exercise administrative and financial powers of Department Chairman. 6. Any other duty assigned by the Principal Officer (Students Affairs)/Vice Chancellor. DUTIES OF ASSOCIATE SENIOR TUTOR/DEPUTY SENIOR TUTOR 1. To assist the Senior Tutor in supervising the tutorial system (132 tutorial groups at campus). 2. To monitor and coordinate the activities of various clubs of art and literary forum Na'at and Qir'at Club, The Quiz Club, Society of Agri Writers (SAW), The Debating Club, The Art Club, UAF Media Club, Versa Music Society, Character Building Society, Rotary Club and Women Voice Forum etc.). 3. To assist Senior Tutor to encourage, initiate positive/constructive activities of students in consultation with their Incharges to improve their behaviour and sharpen their intellect for healthy co-curricular activities. 4. To assist and accompany Senior Tutor in supervising different events and activities of co-curricular nature within and outside the Campus to provide opportunity to the students to explore their potential. 5. To perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Tutor, Principal Officer (Students Affairs). DUTIES OF TUTORS/CO-TUTORS Tutor/Co-Tutor act as advisor to the students with the following duties 1. Hold weekly meeting with the students in class room to inculcate excellent moral values in the students and to polish their capabilities. 2. Render advisory services to the students in all the academic and non-academic matters. 3. Maintain student's records of curricular and co-curricular achievements. 4. Maintain a close contact with students and keep a vigilant eye on their activities. 5. Keep a close contact with the parents of students and to inform them about the academic performance and general behavior of their wards. 6. In case of any problem, to facilitate the students. 7. In case of involvement of a student in disciplinary case, to help the disciplinary advisory committee, based on information contained in the file of respective student regarding his/her conduct & character. 8. Finally make assessment of students conduct and character to be reflected in their character certificates.
