SYNOPSIS/THESIS/TRAVEL GRANT PLAGIARISM CHECKING BY QEC

  1. Supervisors are encouraged to check thesis/synopsis of his/her student for plagiarism (program: Turnitin) before submission. Your checked file will be as student papers with Turnitin. QEC checking will not include student papers but the internet and periodicals, journals, & publications search.
  2. Supervisor will send soft copy of the synopsis/thesis without i) materials and methods, ii) references and iii) graphics/photographs to directorqec@uaf.edu.pk. Please attach a single file at a time with each e-mail. Every soft copy received will be acknowledged.
  3. File be named as Synopsis (S) / Thesis (T) with registration number of student, degree and department, (e.g. S2011-ag-1005-PhD-Zool or T2012-ag-1005-PhD-Zool). Also write the same file name in the subject matter.
  4. Only file writing check Synopsis or Thesis means nothing for QEC. QEC will not check such sent files and will return without checking with the remarks that “File name not according to instructions”.
  5. Each supervisor has to submit soft copy of the synopsis/thesis for checking 48 hours before the closing date; otherwise QEC will not be responsible to deliver result well in time.
  6. Reports will be delivered to the concerned quarters. QEC will try to feed back the supervisors about these reports.
  7. Supervisors are responsible to guide the students on each and every aspect of plagiarism. If supervisors have any question about plagiarism, you can ask QEC people or directly from me. Please don’t send students to QEC office with any such questions or with the request to expedite the process. This practice is painful for us, either we should listen to students or should check plagiarism? Therefore, No student is allowed to visit QEC/my office for this purpose.


Travel Grant Protocol:

  1. 1. Send soft copy of research paper without references to directorqec@uaf.edu.pk for plagiarism checking.
  2. As per HEC policy, overall Similarity Index must not exceed 19% while from a single source should not be exceeding 5%.
  3. Submit your Travel Grant Application (hard copy) 24 hours after soft copy for signatures.
