Agricultural Engineers by their innovative technological approaches can play pivotal role for bringing green revolution through farmers friendly technologies. This was stated by the Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq, Acting Vice Chancellor University of Agriculture, Faisalabad while addressing the participants of “Annual Function 2010” organized by Society of Agricultural Engineers as a Chief Guest at Faculty of agricultural Engineering Lawn here on Wednesday. Dr. Ashfaq urged the young engineers to come up with new technology on the demand of farmers as well as to meet the emerging challenges being faced by Agricultural Sector. He added that value edition technology keeping in view the Demand of local industry is the dire need of hour. He maintained that Pakistan is bestowed with World largest irrigation system and this pride should be translated in to transformable export commodities in order to raise our foreign reserves. Dr. Niaz emphasized the Engineers to conduct problem oriented research in order to provide solutions raised by various stake holders. He said that we are trying to up-grade the Agri. Engineering Faculty in accordance with International standards and time will come when International Agricultural sectors will hire our competent out-come. Syed Bashir Mir, The progressive farmer and entrepreneur from Gujrat urged the Agri. Engineers to work on Solar and Wind Energy at affordable price for small farmers. He said that we can indigenize these technologies by putting attention at institution levels. Prof. Dr. Faizan Ahmad, Prof. Dr. Khawaja Altaf Hussain, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, and Dr. Muhammad Irshad also spoke on the occasion. Students from 6th Semester presented skits and colorful programs to send off Final Semester students. |
