First ever Business Incubation facility has been set to be inaugurated by Federal Minister for Finance Mr. Shoukat Tareen on October 21, 2009 at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Business Incubation facility is being established at UAF Campus with collaboration of Competitiveness Support Fund (CSF), and Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan.

It is worth mentioning that CSF is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Finance Govt. of Pakistan and the United State Agency for International Development footing matching grants facilities running countrywide. With the establishment of Business Incubation facility UAF has entered the International arena of commercialization of research through technology incubators and parks.

The purpose of establishing business incubation facility at UAF Campus is to facilitate the commercialization of research and development output by linking the academia with agriculture industry. Through this facility technological processes/products developed by the University Scientists could be displayed in the shape of technology parks and incubation system for technologies/products developed at the Universities would be promoted.

It is hoped that funding opportunities, establishing linkages and seeking technical support from various organizations could be occurred as well as the goal of helping the entrepreneur would get off the ground through mentoring funding and other facilities. The inauguration of Business Incubation facility at UAF Campus is part of 3-day “University Festival and Kissan Mela” which will held on 21-23 October 2009.
