University of Agriculture, Faisalabad will have state of the Art IT Infrastructure through equipping itself with Rs. 23 million HEC grant at the Campus. The 1st phase of this project “IT Resource Centre and Data Bank” would be completed within 6-month by spending 17.774 million rupees. This was stated by the Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan while inaugurating the civil work and digging of this mega project outside STC Hall of the University on Wednesday.

Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan hoped that by expanding the Internet facilities for teachers and students in order to improve the e-teaching & e-research environment UAF would become the only institution at Faisalabad who has modern fiber optic fastest Internet facility for students and teaching community. Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan unveiled the plaque and prays for the successful completion of project. Mr. Muhammad Ajmal Khan Project Director and Director Planning & Development, Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Khan, Brig. (Rtd.) M. Javed Anwar, Mr. Tasleem Mustafa, DSA Dr. Zafar Iqbal Qureshi and others attended the ceremony.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan visited the proposed site of IT resource Centre and Data Bank and inquired about the installation of Fiber Optic System. He termed this project as a milestone in order to improve the e-teaching and research activities by connecting student hostels and allied offices through a back-bone fiber optic and Campus vide fiber optic based connections would be strengthened.
