New discoveries in the field of agriculture are not possible without focusing on basic sciences. Stated by UAF VC Prof. Dr. Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing the participants of annual function of department of chemistry and biochemistry here at Iqbal Auditorium on Tuesday evening. Dr. Iqrar said that old campus can be described as science museum but not meant for scientific experiments and UAF is going to construct a new science building to befittingly meet the research objectives.

Dr. Iqrar revealed that UAF has submitted various projects to different funding agencies and he is optimistic that UAF will fetch the funds as its project proposals placed at top of the list for final approval of the concerned agency. He vowed that as the funds are available more facilities for students will be provided. He asked the participants to generously donate to mitigate the sufferings of huge number of Internally Displaced Peoples of Malakand, Buner, Swat and adjoining areas by depositing one day salary of academic and administrative staff along with setting up donation camps at main campus by rover’s scouts and at College of Agriculture DG Khan, sub campuses at Toba and Depalpur. Dean Faculty of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ashraf, Chairman Chemistry Prof. Dr. Munir A Sheikh and students spoke on the occasion.
