Department of Humanities and Linguistics- Overview

The subjects of Humanities & Linguistics always inspire and equip the new generation of any society with fundamentally essential attributes that are inevitable for the uplifting of the moral, social, ethical values that unanimously related to academics. Here, the objective is not just to impart education but a comprehensive knowledge of the society which may induce our future generation with best leadership qualities and humane attitude for its inhabitants. The department of Humanities & Linguistics is well aware of all these emerging challenges of the world. The two disciplines i.e. English and Pakistan Studies, of which the department is consist of, are vitally important in this regard.
The department offers M.A. English as weekend program and subject of  English and Pakistan Studies to F.Sc. Pre-Agriculture and all the under/post graduate classes in various faculties. Furthermore, Ethics is also being offered by this department to the Foreigner/Non Muslim students. The courses of the English Language are based on needs of learners regarding their utilization of language in various competitive and business fields. Besides department also offers three elective courses to undergraduate classes of B.Sc. (Hons) Agri. Sciences
The other major subject, which the department is honestly working in its uplift, is Pakistan Studies. This subject is not traditional in its essence as it not only deals with Pakistan affairs and its historical background but is also inducing knowledge in the changing political, social and strategic world scenario. For this the department is offering courses to undergraduate post graduate level.
Besides curricular activities, the department is earnestly participating in extra-curricular and administrative tasks. The two leading clubs, Quiz club and Society of Agriculture Writers, under the supervision of senior tutor office, are run by its staff members. Their performance in this regard is highly commendable and university has acknowledged their work by awarding various shields and certificate time to time. The university annual magazine kisht-e-nau also shows the contributing efforts of its faculty.

           
Recently, another achievement of the department is the consent of the Worthy Vice Chancellor in establishing Editing Desk in the department. Though this versatile effort, the department will assist the research scholars in their research and academic thesis in terms of accurate usage of language. This desk will not only serve the university researchers but also the researchers outside of it.
