Position & Department: Chairman/Professor, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Science
Research Intersts: 1. Poultry Pathology 2. Parmyxovirus infection in poultry Prevalence and incidence of its variant i.e., Pigeon Paramyxo Virus-1 (PPMV-1). Field survey of PPMV-1 in pigeons in major cities of Pakistan. Isolation, pathotyping and experimental inoculation to pigeons and chickens of PPMV-1 to know clinical signs, gross pathology, histopathology and pathogenesis. Development of H.I. antigen of PPMV-1 from field virus to perform seromonitoring in pigeons or chickens. Prevention of PPMV-1 infection through oil base in pigeons. Use of PCR, immunoflourscent technique and in situ hybridization (ISH) techniques for the diagnosis of APMV-1 infection in chicken.
Position & Department: Professor, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Science
Research Intersts: Investigate prevailing food animal and poultry diseases. Molecular epidemiology and Patho-physiology of animal and poultry diseases, especially zoonotic diseases. Molecular biology: use in diagnosis and investigating diseases of animals. Development of diagnostic kits/biologicals. Further information is available on the following link: http://www.geocities.ws/mtjaved/
Position & Department: Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Science
Research Intersts: Poultry diseases are big obstacle in the way forward of improved poultry production in Pakistan. Avian health is badly effected by infectious and noninfectious diseases. I am currently working on the pathology of mycotoxins in poultry and control of these mycotoxins through locally available mycotoxins binding substances. Molecular Epidemiology and Pathology of Infectious Bronchitis, Fowl Adenovirus and Chicken Infectious Anemia. Many locally available mycotoxin binding /degrading substances are identified and being identified to prepare cost effective indigenous products. Interaction of mycotoxins with infectious disease agents like mycotoxins and Fowl Adenovirus and chicken Infectious Anemia.
Position & Department: Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Science
Research Intersts: Primary domain of my research is epidemiological investigations of zoontic diseases. Zoonosis is a big issue and almost 60% of infectious diseases are zoonotic. I am currently working on diagnosis of zoonotic diseases of animals through various conventional and modern diagnostic techniques in early and later stages. I am also interested to find out patho-morphological alterations produced due to these diseases. Ultimate objective of my research is to find out the ways to control/overcome these problems in future. Secondly, I am also working on toxicopathologies induced by various insecticides and pesticides in animals, immunotoxiclogy and their amelioration.
Position & Department: Lecturer, Department of Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Science
Research Intersts: My area of research is avian infectious diseases and toxicological pathology with special reference to Mycotoxins and Pesticides toxicity in poultry/animals. Immunomodulatory and ameliorative effects of indigenous substances like clays, herbs and micro-organisms. Epidemiology of infectious diseases of poultry and animals are also part of my ongoing work.
Research Intersts: (1): Molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases of animal and poultry (2): Toxicopathology (3): Isolation and Qurantine response strategies for a zoonotic disease outbreak in community (One Health)
Research Intersts: Avian toxicopathology. The contamination of feed stuff with mycotoxins poses a serious threat to health and productivity of animal. Their residues also come in eggs and meat which are consumed by humans and face serious health issues.
