Research interest concentrates mainly on the eggs with special reference to cholesterol reduction in eggs by supplementation of various medicinal plants. Antibiotics use in poultry feed has residual effects, so working on alternatives to be used in poultry ration to improve performance. The effect of supplementation of garlic, kalongi and neem leaves extract, asgand, badarigand, fundak and itsit in broiler ration to improve the immune status of the broilers to prevent them from various bacterial, viral and parasitic diseases. The recycling of layer flock through the application of humane methods of inducing the molt in response to the animal welfare issues at international level. One of the commendable work in the establishment of locally produced fiber degrading enzymes to be supplemented in poultry feed to economize the ration.

Poultry breeding, comparison of genetic potential of Lyallpur Silver Black (LSB) with imported breed Rhode Island Red (RIR). Improvement of poultry breeds through selection. Physiological parameters, managemental practices and behavioural studies to improve the performance of birds. Effect of various sources, duration and intensities of lighting on the production performance of birds. Use of herbs/medicinal plants to improve the performance of birds. Effect of organic acids on the performance of broilers.
Software development for poultry farmers, researchers and students for handling and analysis of data. Laboratory information management system development and implementation. In this regard intelligent software for prediction of production, profitability and treatment are main focuses. As regards molecular biology/biotechnology interests computational analyses are main thrust in which the principles involved in the working of Artificial Neural networks, Experimental Designing of cDNA Microarrays, Analysis of Differential Gene Expression, Statistical analysis of data involving microarray technology as well as biological experiment. Acquired skills include computer programming, data acquisition and automation, Molecular Visualization tools like Rasmol, Cn3d, VMD, SwissPdbviewer; Alignment Tools viz. BLAST, Clustal package, Multialign; Comparative genomic tools i.e. E-shadow Sybyl, Modeller, NCBI Tool Kit, EMBOSS and Genscan., chemical and biological analysis, and electronics diagnostic and trouble-shooting. Current interests include use of advanced computational Biology/Bioinformatics tools in Poultry Farm Management.
Efficient utilization of various poultry rations is a key to success in poultry production. However, antinutritional factors/toxic agents like tannins and trypsin inhibitors are constraints in poultry feeds, which reduce efficiency of feed utilization in fowls. My research work deals with physiological effects of environmental conditions, antinutritional factors and medicinal plants, along with development of various techniques to ameliorate the effects of the aforementioned conditions in poultry birds. At present I am working on the effects of variants and sequential feeding in broilers. Under this programme, the use of different variations in quantities of proteins and varying levels of energy have been reevaluated in specific relation to its effects on production, efficiency of feed utilization, carcass quality and level of economic achievements of broiler production.
