The University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) has clinched another distinctive milestone with 4th position among 461 Universities of the Islamic World. The ranking was made by Information Technology University – Quality and Research Ranking (ITU-QRR). The position was made on the basis of its valuable contributions in Agriculture and Biological Sciences and Veterinary category. The recent statistics released this week, declared UAF number one university among 101 universities of the country in the said categories.
UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr M Iqbal Zafar has described the new ranking a remarkable accomplishment and matter of pride for faculty, scientists, alumni, students and staff. He dedicated the ranking to the collective efforts, hard work and determination of each and every member of the UAF community in the pursuit of excellence. “We could not be more proud of this significant achievement, which is thanks to UAF faculty and their outstanding research and teaching performance. UAF alumni who serve as great ambassadors to the University and its remarkable ability to nurture and produce world class leaders in all aspects of life and the UAF administration with its wisdom and strategic vision and ambitions, as well as its success in building the environment that allows communities to flourish” he added. The ranking, he said, would further cement the belief among many that UAF is indeed the finest university in the Muslim World, yet there is much work to do if we are to be where we need to be, clearly recognized as one of the 100 finest universities of the world. Earlier, every credible ranking system i.e. Times Ranking, QS World University Ranking, Shanghai Ranking, National Taiwan University Ranking, US Bricks Ranking, Green Matric Ranking etc placed UAF in the top 100 universities of the globe in any of the subject categories. It is worth mentioning that UAF is the only university of the country which is marching towards excellence with such global distinctions.
