The University of Agriculture Faisalabad took out smog awareness walk in order to aware public about its hazard and take measures to tackle the situation.
The rally was taken out by Senior Tutor Office, UAF that was led by UAF Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Iqbal Zafar. Addressing on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said that amid the situation of manmade problems like increasing pollution and climate changes, we are exploiting earth from our own hands. He said that factories are chunking smokes heavily, deteriorating health and environmental situation. He urged the people to cover their nose and mouth and worn protective glasses and helmet so they could safe from eye infection, itchy skin, headache and other disease. He suggested increasing water usage that will help fight the affect of the smog on human health. He said that in current circumstances, after coming back to home or offices, one must clean face, and eyes with water. He added that the Nature has blessed us with tremendous resources but unfortunately, we are exploiting these. He added that there is a need to take care of vehicles to avoid smokes from their silencer. He said that with the passage of time, the per capita water availability was decreasing for which there is a need to sensitize the public about the rational usage of water. Senior Dr Athar Javed, and Dr Tahir Siddique also spoke on the occasion.
