Dice business plan contest of agriculture and food industry arranged at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad concluded on Thursday.
It is a part of UAF ongoing Rabi that will continue till November 7. In the contest, as many as 20 universities across the country participated. In the Dice contest, Dr. Abdul Rehman from University of Sargodha bagged the first position by developing the business model of triple Row Sugarcane Inter-Cropping Drill. The two students stood at the second position. Nazar Hussain and Hassan Afzal from University of Agriculture, Faisalabad stood second with their project of Variable Rate Agro-Chemical Sprayer for Citrus Orchards using on the Go Sensors ; and the Sensor Based Precision Irrigation System respectively. Dr. Mahwash Aziz from Govt. College Women University, Faisalabd; Aman Bint Nasir from University of Agriculture, Faisalabd, Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Iqbal University of Gujrat Mr. Naveed Asghar from Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan stood the third. Chairing the concluding session, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that strong academia- industry linkages would pave the way to ensure the food security and make the development. He said that the country was blessed with tremendous. There is the need to tap the potential. DICE Chairman Sohail Jamal and UAF Director ORIC Zahir Ahmad Zahir also spoke on the occasion.
