The promotion of co-curricular activities provides an opportunity to students to enhance their communication and God-given abilities that ultimately help them to be better professionals in future. This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan while addressing prize distribution ceremony for the UAF students who have won co-curricular activities of All Pakistan contests in two years in the different competitions. The ceremony was arranged under the umbrella of Senior Tutor Office, University of Agriculture Faisalabad.
He said Allah Almighty has blessed everyone with unique qualities. It is the duty of the teaching staff to provide an enabling environment to the students to refurbish their inner qualities. He said that in two year 2013-14, the UAF students had bagged 195 positions in co- All Pakistan curricular contests including 84 first position; 66 second and 45 third. He lauded the steps being taken on the part of Senior Tutor Office for co curricular activities and to produce talented students in this regard. He lauded the talents of the students for proving their mettle in the contests. He also directed the officials concerned to capture the interests of the students in the sports that will make them more active.
Senior Tutor Dr Athar Javed said that all tangible steps were being taken to promote the extracurricular activities at the campus. He said 195 positions in All-Pakistan contests by UAF students speak the volume of the endeavors. He said that they provide a diversified set up (clubs) include: Qiraat & Naat, Debating, Quiz, Writers and Art club where students perform their potential and compete at national and International levels. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Iqbal Zafar said that enabling environment for the students were prerequisite to polish their skills. He said that the country was blessed with the tremendous talents. Treasurer Umar Saeed Qadri said that quality education, research and promotion of co-curricular activities are essential to compete with the rest of the world. He urged the students to take part in co-curricular activities and to showcase their talents before the people.
